"Abeni was the photographer for our wedding in July of 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns. We were originally planning for our to be a big bash in Chicago, where I was living at the time, but with all the restrictions in place, we made the last-minute decision to move our wedding to Sleepy Eye, where Joachim was living and where I would be moving to, and to keep everything small and simple. Through it all, Abeni was incredibly flexible and understanding of our situation, and she kept up excellent communication with us as plans kept changing. On the day of, Abeni was there bright and early to get pictures of the church, the bridal party, and our family members. She did a great job of striking a balance between candid photos and more artistic posed photos, all of which turned out wonderful. She was discreet during the ceremony but still managed to capture photos that made it look as if she were right next to us. She also kept up with the whirlwind of people coming and going at our open-house style reception, and her pictures of some of our young nieces and nephews are absolutely priceless. It's clear that Abeni understands what goes into an excellent photograph and that she has a keen eye for the picturesque. On top of all that, her prices are extremely reasonable, and we look forward to having her continue to photograph our family as it grows."
